TSU, Giorgi Akhvlediani Society for the History of Linguistics Sign Memorandum of Cooperation

Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) and Giorgi Akhvlediani Society for the History of Linguistics signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The memorandum was signed by TSU Rector, Academician Vladimer Papava and Chairperson of Giorgi Akhvlediani Society for the History of Linguistics, Professor Tinatin Bolkvadze.
TSU Rector, Vladimer Papava said: “Giorgi Akhvlediani was a distinguished scientist, one of the founders of the university. TSU deems it very important to maintain and develop those scientific directions, which were initiated during the university’s foundation. Official cooperation with Giorgi Akhvlediani Society for the History of Linguistics is extremely important for us.”
“Giorgi Akhvlediani Society for the History of Linguistics had already developed close cooperation with the Tbilisi State University; but today this cooperation has been formalized. Giorgi Akhvlediani’s family has donated books, photos, manuscripts, private and scientific correspondence, telegrams and memorabilia to the university,” Chairperson of Giorgi Akhvlediani Society for the History of Linguistics, Professor Tinatin Bolkvadze said.
According to the memorandum, the parties will collaborate in promoting and implementing joint educational and scientific projects, including in the spheres of studying, analyzing and protecting the archival, museum, bibliographic and scientific heritage; provide the integration of joint research into the academic process through the development of curricula and resources; facilitate the availability of research and scientific resources for scholars and students in the process of research and education.
