7th ICEVI Eastern European Conference

Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) hosted the 7th ICEVI Eastern European Conference on a topic “Partnership: Parent Professional Cooperation in the Process of Education of Visually Impaired Children.” Deputy Rector of TSU, Mikheil Chkhenkeli, Georgia’s First Lady Maka Chichua, invited guests from Holland, Slovakia, Poland, Armenia, Romania, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Greece attended the event.

In a welcome address read out to the participants of the conference, Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili noted that international cooperation and sharing experience in the process of education of visually impaired children is extremely important.      

The conference aims at sharing international experience in the process of education of visually impaired children, strengthening parents and professionals, outlining future topics and developing the government’s recommendations. The conference was held with the support of the Georgian President’s Reserve Fund, the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs of Georgia, McLain Association for Children and Tbilisi school for blind and visually impaired children No.202.
